LOOK: Young Boy Gets Chopsticks Stuck in His Throat After Freak Accident

A 12-year-old boy was rushed to hospital last week in Hubei with a pair of steel chopsticks stuck in his throat.

The boy had left school to buy his lunch and was eating as he walked back when he was hit by a mother driving her scooter to school to deliver lunch to her son. The chopsticks became lodged in the boy’s throat after he fell to the ground.

Mail Online reports, the boy fell to the ground after being hit, and the pair of steel chopsticks in his take-out bag wedged into his neck.

He was rushed to hospital where surgeons were able to remove the chopsticks, the chopsticks didn’t hit anything vital or injure the boy’s spine. He is currently recovering and should have only minor scarring and an awesome story for the rest of his life.

Astonishingly, an x-ray revealed that they had caused absolutely no damage to any of his key organs.

‘He was really very lucky,’ medic, Zhou Jen told local media, adding that a CT scan had revealed that the chopsticks had missed the Chia’s trachea, oesophagus and key blood vessels.

He underwent surgery to have them removed.
