Young stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo play the iconic role of Yna Macaspac and Angelo Buenavista in the remake of the new hit teleserye “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” revealed to fans that they did not watch the original version.
“Hindi po [ipinapanood] kasi baka magaya namin ‘yung luma,” Padilla said in an interview on DZMM.
Bernardo explained that she was never told to imitate the original Yna, played by Kristine Hermosa.
The original version of the teleserye premiered in 2000 and aired for two years.
Padilla and Bernardo said the new version will be more modern and will have a shorter run.
