Footage Shows Cleveland Cops Shoot Boy 2 Seconds After Arriving

Cleveland police on Wednesday released security camera footage showing the final moment a 12-year-old Tamir Rice was shot dead by a police officer after mistaking his BB gun for a genuine weapon.

Rice was shot in the stomach by rookie officer Timothy Loehmann, 26, on Saturday after a man called in to 9-1-1 to report a young man waving around a gun.

The caller told the dispatcher that the gun might be fake, but this information was never passed on to the responding officers.

The grainy footage, released at a press conference on Wednesday shows Rice wandering around Cudell Recreation Center in Cleveland waving the weapon at passersby.

Officers, who initially thought Rice was aged about 20 is then shot just two seconds after the officers pull up in their cruiser.
