Philippine dance group Junior New System sets the bar for the competition with an amazing performance!
In the pilot episode of the show, the nine-member group amazed the show’s celebrity judges and brought the studio audience to their feet. Though initially looking shy when they came on stage, the group turned dynamo as soon as the music started.
“Junior New System is a name that I’m going to remember,” said Taiwanese-American pop star judge Vanness Wu. “(Your performance) was very unique in a sense that you guys are very original with what you did.”
Another judge, former Spice Girl member Melanie C., quipped, “Every one of you is equally brilliant.”
Indonesian rock icon Anggun was impressed with how the dancers “become something else.” She said of their performance, “It was funny, and it was sweet, and cute, and there were a lot of things and I love it so much.”
Legendary songwriter-producer David Foster believes the group would do well backing any big shot performer.
“Junior New System, ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ has been looking for you,” he said.
The young performers vowed to help their parents with the family expenses if they win.
AXN’s “Asia’s Got Talent” airs Thursdays at 8:05 p.m. in the Philippines.
