WATCH: Darren Espanto’s Incredible Version Of Grenade At The Next Star Audition

Filipino-Canadian talent Darren Espanto audition at The Next Star singing Grenade which makes one of the judges getting too emotional. Darren Espanto, only 10 years old when he  joined the singing competition and is making waves in Canada.

Darren Espanto is Filipino-Canadian from Calgary, Canada but his parents are both Filipino immigrants from Nueva Vizcaya. “The Next Star” is a Canadian reality singing competition airing in YTV. The Next Star is a reality series that seeks out and shapes Canada’s future singing superstars.

Darren Espanto is now among the Top 6 finalists and is ranked number 1. At the last elimination round, Darren performed Rihanna’s “Only Girl in the World.” Darren is the youngest among the Top 6 finalists (and the smallest, obviously, lol).

Here’s what the judges had to say about his performance:

You’re truly unbelievable!

You’re smiling and say thank you. You’re so polite.

You really blew me away.

There’s no question in my mind that you have the talent you’re 10, in two years you’re gonna be that much a better singer.

Two years after he joined Canada’s The Next star, Young singer Darren made it and landed a second spot in the The Voice Kids Philippines.

Grenade — needs to be remembered two years later! Lol.

What do you think?
