WATCH: 54-Year Old Pinay Vendor Gets Standing Ovation on ‘Asia’s Got Talent’

Felicitas Garcia, a vegetable vendor from Pasig City, received a standing ovation from the judges of “Asia’s Got Talent” after her performance of Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” aired on Thursday.

The 54-year-old Filipina was accompanied by local comedian Moymoy Palaboy, whose real name is James Ronald, onstage.

16-time Grammy winner David Foster, who seemed unimpressed with Ronald and asked Garcia if she would be willing to leave behind the comedian for a chance to move on to the next round of the competition, gave them a no for their performance.

However, they earned 3 nods from the show’s judges, UK pop sensation and former Spice Girl Melanie C, Indonesian rock icon Anggun, and Taiwanese-American pop idol Vanness Wu, enough to make them part of the next round.

“Asia’s Got Talent,” which is hosted by Filipinos Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez, is the first-ever pan-regional edition of the global “Got Talent” format.
