Pinay girl group 4th Impact finally performed their first ballad song during the X Factor UK’s quarter-finals dubbed “Jukebox Week” on early Sunday (Manila time).
Sisters Almira, Mylene, Celina and Irene wowed the judges with their heartfelt rendition of The Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” as chosen by the public via online voting earlier this week. The group opened with their powerful vocals with Almira impressing everyone with her whistle note at the middle of the song.
Here’s what the judges has to say with their performance:
Simon Cowell: “Girls, can I be honest with you? When you walked on wearing identical dresses again and I saw flowers in the background, I was dreading it. Then you started to sing and everything changed. ‘B’ your vocal was absolutely outstanding at parts. The best you sounded so far”.
Rita Ora: “Honestly I loved the relationship you have with the record. Jackson 5 were related and you are related. And I think only the people that have connection to each other can sing a record like that and do it justice.”
Nick Grimshaw: “You do entertain us every week. It was great to see a completely different side of you. As Simon said, some of the vocals are incredible. There are going to be dolphins arriving in Wembley.”
Cheryl Fernandez Versini: “You did a fantastic job and you nailed that performance.”
