[VIDEO] Fil-Am Katherine Dela Cruz Jams With Lea Salonga On The Voice PH 2

Fate had other things planned for Filipino-American Katherine dela Cruz after she failed to make a single chair turn for with her rendition of John Legend’s “All of Me” during the Blind Auditions on The Voice of the Philippines.

And though she didn’t make it to the next round, the 22-year-old artist from California grab the opportunity to ask Lea Salonga if they can do a duet. Dela Cruz played Kim at a local production of “Miss Saigon” in California and a big fan of Salonga.

They sang “I Still Believe”, which impressed the original Kim of Miss Saigon, vowed to recommend her to the current “Miss Saigon” production in London.

“Right now, ‘Miss Saigon’ is running in the West End. So what I want to do is… please keep her name because I want to recommend you. This is not a guarantee of anything, not even an audition. But at least I can tell them that I met this girl in the Philippines. She wasn’t right for the show, but I thing she would be right for you. So please, please see her,” Salonga said.
