Three cases of the COVID-19 United Kingdom variant called B.1.1.7 were detected in Malabon, which was classified as a critical area due to rising cases of COVID-19 according to the latest report.

The UK variant was detected in a three-year-old boy and two senior citizens, Malabon City health officer Roberto Romero said.

The female senior citizen travelled to Subic before she was diagnosed with the variant, the official added.
