President Noynoy Aquino (P-Noy) said that the Marcos family should apologize for the implementation of Martial Law in the Philippines.
According to media report, President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday refrained from directly accusing the late President Ferdinand Marcos of masterminding the assassination of his father, former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.
However, he said it was obvious that Marcos’ “mode of governance” allowed such a thing to happen and that his children should apologize for the dictatorship’s transgressions against the Filipino people.
PNoy is the son of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr and President Corazon Aquino, fierce rivals of the elder Marcos. Aquino did not directly blame the late Marcos for his father’s assassination in 1983 but said “there was a mode of governance that allowed such a thing to happen.”
Aquino also said he believes that the Filipino people will not allow the Marcoses to return to Malacañang, an obvious reference to Senator Marcos’ vice presidential candidacy in the May 2016 polls.
