Pinay Teen Marlisa Punzalan Gets Standing Ovation On The X Factor Australia Grand Finals

Marlisa Punzalan received another standing ovation from all four judges during the Grand Finals of The X Factor Australia on Sunday, October 19.

On the show’s final performance night, the finalists performed three songs each — their audition songs, their winner’s single, and duets with Jess Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and Olly Murs.

Mentored by Ronan Keating, the 15-year-old finalist performed The Beatles original “Yesterday” for her audition song.

Here are the judges thoughts on her performance:

“What a way to kickoff the 2014 grand final baby, that was incredible. You have just got up yo the peak right there. That was perfect. Congratulations.” – Redfoo.

“Marlisa, you have been so confident in your choices, and so courageous. Your performance and your vocals have skyrocketed, they’ve grown throughout this competition. And I love what you said that needed to get your confidence. But you know what? You now inspire so many people watching this show. That’s your job now. Well done.” – Danii Minogue

“You have peaked at the right time, honey. You have just blossomed in the last few weeks. You sing, you’ve always sang so beautifully. Standing up there right now, you did look like a star. Now I’m really nervous.” – Natalie Bassingthwaighte

“We’ve got a big show in our hands, we’ve got incredible performances on the way, from all of the contestants. But I tell you what — you’ve picked a great time to get a standing ovation. Wow. You have been such an incredible person throughout this whole journey, and as a mentor, I couldn’t have asked for a better contestant.” – Ronan Keating

The X Factor Australia grand winner will be revealed at the end of the Live Decider show tomorrow.
