Philippine basketball legend Carlos “Caloy” Loyzaga has passed away at the age of 85.

Loyzaga’s death was confirmed by son Chito, according to radio dzBB report on Wednesday, January 27.
Caloy Loyzaga was given the moniker “The Big Difference” because of his greatness on the basketball floor both in the country and in international events, counting Olympic Games.
He is best known for leading the Philippines to a bronze medal in the 1954 FIBA World Championship, which is also the first and only time that an Asian country scored a medal in the prestigious event.
He has 4 children: Chito and Joey, who also played in PBA; and actresses Bing and Teresa.
