Former PBA star Samboy Lim was rushed to the hospital Friday after collapsing during a PBA Legends exhibition game at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.
Former PBA player Vince Hizon took to Twitter to share the news. According to a Spin.ph report by veteran scribe Snow Badua, Lim collapsed unconscious after stretching in the sidelines.
Prior to that, the 53-year-old PBA legend dubbed as the ‘Skywalker’, had seen action for six minutes in the first quarter against the Resorts World team. The game was called off as a result of the incident.
The hashtag #PrayersForSamboy quickly trended on social media as netizens express their support and prayer to Lim.
Lim played in the PBA from 1986-1997 for the San Miguel Beermen before joining the Philippine Basketball League’s Welcoat Paints for a season. He retired in 1998 and was named one of the PBA’s 25 Greatest Players two years later and was elected to the PBA Hall of Fame in 1999.
