The Twitter account of Kalyeserye star Maine ‘Yaya Dub’ Mendoza, was hacked early Tuesday morning, November 3.
The hacker, however, apologized to Mendoza and to all her followers.
“Sorry po if napadaan kami sa account ni yayadub, ibabalik din namin to sa tunay na may-ari…” read a tweet on Maine’s account from hackers who introduced themselves to be Anonymous Philippines.
Anonymous Philippines is known for their cyber attacks on government websites to help advance their advocacies and other internet issues. On their Facebook page, it says: Anonymous is not a group, Anonymous is not a club. Anonymous is an idea, and ideas are bulletproof. We cannot be killed, we cannot be silenced, we cannot be destroyed. You cannot stop us. The corrupt fear us. The honest support us. The heroic join us. We are Anonymous.
At 7am, November 3, the hackers stated on their Facebook page that they already returned the Twitter account to Mendoza and claimed that they only did it to send their message to everyone. They again apologized to Mendoza and said that they hoped she will understand their purpose.
to all #AlDub fans,
we use the internet to communicate with you.
