Breakout star Maine Mendoza took to Twitter to thank her supporters on her latest achievement after bagging the Best Supporting Actress award at the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal at the Kia Theater in Quezon City on Sunday.
Maine expressed her disbelief and surprise when she found out that she won her first acting trophy in the MMFF for her role in the blockbuster romantic-comedy “My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore”. She also anticipated the bashing that she would get from her critics.
She tweeted: “Bago pa ako ibash ng sambayanan, mauuna na ako.. Bakit ako? Pero maraming salamat po! Magandang umaga sa lahat!”

“My Bebe Love” is Maine’s first movie, and the Best Supporting Actress award is her first acting recognition. The 20-year-old social media star, who did not undergo any acting workshop for the movie due to time constraints, bested other nominees in the category, including veteran actresses Nova Villa, Lotlot de Leon and Iza Calzado.
