‘Titanic’ stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were reunited at the 73rd annual Golden Globes on Sunday, January 10 as they took home big awards this year.
DiCaprio took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama for The Revenant while Winslet also won Best Supporting Actress for Steve Jobs.
“Titanic,” incidentally, won four Golden Globes off eight nominations in 1998, including best motion picture, drama. While Winslet and DiCaprio were nominated for actress and actor in a motion picture, drama, respectively — they went home empty-handed.
After the success of Titanic, Leo and Kate were able to work again in 2009’s Revolutionary Road, directed by Kate’s ex-husband Sam Mendes. They were nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively in the 2009 Golden Globes.
About 19 years after their 1997 blockbuster hit, “Titanic,” fans were still thrilled to see Kate and Leo catching up over a commercial break at the Globes. When DiCaprio returned to his table after his acceptance speech, Winslet ran over to him and gave him a hug. Fans of ‘Jack and Rose’ went crazy on social media sites as the two actors were caught on camera embracing each other.
