The 39-year-old actor Leonardo DiCaprio has finally joined Instagram on Tuesday just in time for his visit to the United Nations Climate Summit.
As of this writing, he has already posted 6 photos and has an impressive 209,000 followers.
DiCaprio’s very first Instagram post is his photo with the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. And he wrote:
“Today, I have the privilege to speak at the United Nations #Climate2014 Summit where world leaders are expected to announce the bold steps they will take to tackle climate change. Thank you Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.”
DiCaprio also shared on the popular social media site his involvement at this weekend’s Climate March in New York City. Joined by close friend and actor Mark Ruffalo, the talented movie stars voiced their support for clean energy.
“With @MarkRuffalo & Oren Lyons at the People’s #ClimateMarch for 100% renewable energy for the #100percent,” he captioned. #MomentForAction #IndigenousPeoples #latergram.”
Indeed, DiCaprio knows how to use social media in a very good way. We may not be expecting selfies on his Instagram account, but we will surely be informed about the different world issues on climate change.
Welcome to Instagram, Leonardo DiCaprio!
