Kamikazee Announces Breakup After 2015

After a 14-year journey and several hit songs, OPM iconic band Kamikazee is set to disband next year.

The announcement was made by the band members in a video on Sunday on their official Facebook page. Lead vocalist Jay Contreras said that the breakup was due to the members’ desire to explore their future outside the band.

Drummer Allan “Bords” Burdeos said the members were happy about the decision and assured their fans that it was not due to any internal rift.

The members thanked their fans and asked them to continue patronizing original Filipino music.

The band is composed of Jay Contreras, Jomal Linao, Led Tuyay, Puto Astete and Bords Burdeos. They were able to produce four studio albums in their 14-year run and are remembered for releasing memorable songs like “Narda”, “Huling Sayaw”, “Martyr Nyebera” and “Wala”, among other hits.
