Idina Menzel took to Twitter to defend herself from critics and bashers after her ‘Let It Go’ performance on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” went viral.
The 43-year-old singer seemingly missed several notes and the Twitter world exploded with negative comments about her singing skills. Critics bashed the way she hit a high note at the end of the song.
Menzel responded on New Year’s Day by tweeting an image of an interview she gave last year, in which she gave her definition of success.
“You can’t get it all right all the time, but you can try your best,” she concluded. “If you’ve done that, all that’s left is to accept your shortcomings and have the courage to try to overcome them.”
Some also defended Menzel from her critics saying how difficult it could be to sing in cold weather and the great outdoors of Times Square isn’t exactly the best venue to belt out a classic.
