Every country boasts of different tourist attractions. But you will surely agree that this particular village in the Yangtze River in the Shengsi Archipelago, China, is one of a kind.
This is an abandoned fishing village, where nobody has lived for several years. The lack of inhabitants resulted in overgrown houses and buildings which look as if they are made from grass. The ivy and other native plants have made these buildings look somewhat haunting, as this is not a sight you will see often or anywhere else.
They are beautiful in an earthly and strange way. There is no known reason why the inhabitants of this village left, but it has been empty for quite a while now.
Abandoned places bring to mind images of ghosts and a sense of apprehension, but this particular village simply evokes a sense of peace and tranquillity. Let’s hope this village will retain its uniqueness and that it will not be tampered with in any way. Leaving it undisturbed is the key to allow it to preserve its beauty and rareness.
