The country’s King and Queen of R&B Jayr and Kyla continue to dazzle and impress Kapamilya since their transfer from GMA Network to ABS-CBN.
With numerous guestings and shows, the two R&B royalties are now invading the music scene not only in the Philippines but also outside of the country through ABS-CBN’s global network, The Filipino Channel.
On July 18, Kyla and Jayr gave Kapamilyas in London a special treat as they performed live at the ‘Barrio Fiesta sa London 2015‘ held at Apps Court Farm, Surrey. The two were also joined by other Kapamilya artists including Bea Alonzo, Matteo Guidicelli, Zanjoe Marudo, Richard Yap, Morrisette Amon and Reo Brothers.
The 31st Barrio Fiesta sa London is a two-day free event open provided by the Philippine Centre and TFC to the public featuring the best of Filipino cultural performances and production numbers from Kapamilya stars from the Philippines. It aims to bring together and capture the unique qualities and spectacles of the Philippine’s fiesta.
Jayr was welcomed by loud cheers and shrieks from the audience as he opened his performance with Justin Timberlake’s Suit and Tie. It was followed by Michael Jackson’s Love Never Felt So Good and he also sang Stevie Wonder’s I Just Called to Say I Love You, one of the songs he performed for ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’.
And of course, Jayr’s performance will never be complete without his classic hit song, ‘Bakit Pa Ba’ which became a staple videoke song for all Pinoys. Audience went wild as he close his performance with a song from his Elevated album, Follow Me and turned the show to a one big party as he sings Chris Brown’s I Wanna See You Tonight.
Kyla, who’s very thankful and happy to be part of the TFC event, continued the party mood at the venue as she opened her performance with Ariana Grande’s Breakfree. It was followed by her performance of ‘On The Wings of Love’ which will be the theme song of James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s primetime series on ABS-CBN.
Kyla finished her performance with a medley of Mariah Carey’s hits Open Arms, Love Takes Time and Vision of Love giving Kapamilya a taste of her vocal powers and excellent runs and riffs.
To cap off their performance, Jayr and Kyla serenaded the crowd with a ‘kilig duet’ of their classic hit ‘Say That You Love Me’ to the delight of all the Kapamilyas in London.
Truly, R&B at its finest!
