ABS-CBN has welcomed former Kapuso artist Kyla on their late night talk show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” aired February 10.
Now officially dubbed as “Queen of R&B”, Kyla revealed the reason behind her decision to leave GMA Network and explore her options.
“In my 15 years as an artist and as a performer, feeling ko po na-maximize ko ‘yung pagiging an artist doon sa kabila,” she said. “Ngayon, I’m just really, really happy.”
“Now that I am open for anything, I am happy and excited na makakatrabaho ko ‘yung mga artists that I look up to and they’re all here on ABS-CBN. Hopefully, sana, in ‘ASAP,'” she added, referring to the Sunday concert variety show.
When asked what song she dedicates for her husband and PBA cager Rich Alvarez, Kyla offers a song from her latest album Journey, “My Heart”.
Kyla’s heartfelt rendition of the song written by international R&B star Brian McKnight left both Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda open-mouthed, amazed and impressed with the Queen’s soulful and soothing voice.
“Ay, naiiyak na ako”, Aquino commented . She went on to say “Ang ganda!” and asked her to sing “Till They Take My Heart Away”, to which Kyla gladly obliged.
Kyla also became a top trending topic on Twitter shortly after the show. She is set to appear on some Kapamilya shows such as Umagang Kay Ganda, Kris TV and Gandang Gabi Vice.
Kyla is now part of Cornerstone Talent Management Center who also handles Kapamilya artists such as Erik Santos, Sam Milby, Angeline Quinto, and Inigo Pascual.
