With the gate attendance of 22,093, it was the UP crowd who almost filled up 50% of the crowd yesterday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for the UAAP 77 Cheerdance Competition.
And one of them is UP alumna Senator Grace Poe.
Joining the UP crowd who were holding cards with ‘UP’ and ‘Pantay Pantay’ written on it, is Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares who studied Development Studies in UP Manila for two years before migrating abroad and finishing Political Science at the Boston College, Massachusetts, USA.
Later on UP flipped those cards to reflect all school colors, true to their theme and vision of equality.
In an interview with GMA, the senator said she was impressed by the level of stunts of all teams. She also appreciated the gesture of the UP crowd to pass the large rainbow-flag to the rest of the audience, cheering for each school touching the cloth.
UP initially passed the rainbow flag among the Maroon audience while waiting for the results, but eventually passed it to the rest of the crowd which is a perfect display of unity among the eight UAAP schools.
