WATCH: Another Filipina Impresses Judges In ‘Idol’ Audition

Another Filipino has made it to the Hollywood round of “American Idol’s” 14th season.

Filipino-American singer Erika David was shown in the audition episode of the FOX singing competition. She faced judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Conick, Jr. in San Francisco.

David, who frequently performs in Filipino community events in the United States, shared a raw video of her audition on YouTube. As seen in the episode, she sang “No One” by Alicia Keys.

In her pre-audition interview, David said: “When I’m in front of the judges, I just have to be confident and, most importantly, be myself.”

She surmised that Lopez would like her attitude or projection while performing. True enough, the Latina superstar commented that she was “sassy,” and went on to hand her her “golden ticket.”

David rose to fame online after she uploaded on YouTube a series of her covers of popular songs in 2007. Since then, she has been regularly posting updates on video-sharing site, with several of her videos getting more than a million views.
