Two Week Old Baby Abandoned Because Of Her Rare Skin Condition

Unfortunately many people seem to place too much importance. Just as the parents of this poor baby seemed to think that the way their child looked was far more important than their parental love.

Due to a rare skin condition, the baby looked wrinkled. And as a result the 25 year old mother, Mamata Dode refused to feed her child or even visit her while she was at the hospital for being born at just 7 months.

Thankfully, her paternal grandfather, Dilip Dode, decided to take things in his hands and he wanted to start taking care of the child.

The couple already had a 3 year old child who did not have any problems with her skin, and so they expected everything to be normal with their second baby. Once they saw that she seemed to be wrinkly all over, and people started to visit at the hospital and commenting negatively, they did not want to have anything to do with her as they were embarrassed.

Dr Minnie Bodhanwala, who is the CEO of the Wadia Hospital helped the grandfather during the first weeks because the child was severely dehydrated and required specialized treatment.

This treatment is expected to cost around 500,000 Rupees, which is around $5,000, but this hospital agreed to meet the cost and also took care of accommodation for the grandfather. Thankfully now she is doing much better thanks to their care and her grandad’s love.
