Tom Hanks Returns For Movie Adaptation Of Dan Brown’s “Inferno”

Tom Hanks will return to star in the third installment in cinema’s Professor Robert Langdon franchise, “Inferno“.

Shooting on Inferno is scheduled to start in Italy next April, with Hanks reprising his role as Harvard professor of religious iconology and symbology, Robert Langdon and Ron Howard also returns to direct the film.

Based once again on Dan Brown’s book with the same title, this third installment that began with The Da Vinci Code, finds Langdon in Italy, suffering with amnesia and a chilling puzzle revolving around Dante’s Inferno. He’ll face a new adversary and an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. He later joined forces with his doctor Sienna Brooks to help him resolve the mystery.

David Koepp is writing Inferno’s script while Brian Grazer is co-producing with Howard, Deadline reports.

The tentative release date is set on December 18, 2015 under Sony Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.
