Brooksville, Florida – Florida Highway Patrol trooper saved a woman’s life after a freak accident involving a seat belt.
“The accident “unfolded as the family had been heading home to Brooksville driving north on the Suncoast Parkway on Thursday night after Thanksgiving dinner in Palm Harbor.”
The woman, who doesn’t want to be identified, was reportedly struggling to get her 3-year-old daughter back into the car seat after she managed to slip out. During the struggle, the mother became entangled in the seat belt as it locked around her neck.
Trooper Brad Wagner came to the rescue on the Suncoast Parkway in Pasco County and saved the 37-year-old who was chocking after the safety device locked around her neck. It was the second life threatening situation Wagner was called to in the past three months.
Wagner acted quickly to free the woman from the life-saving device. Using a knife, the trooper cut through the seat belt which allowed the mother to catch her breath.
Wagner’s record shows he performed CPR on a crash victim in September to save that person’s life.
