“The world has changed and ang pamamaraan ng news reporting, and that includes showbiz news reporting, ay nabago na rin po. Para sa aming pagbabalik ay isang malaking pagbabago ang inyong aabangan,” said Abunda in his announcement on the show on Sunday.

Abunda admitted that a part of him “died today” as they bid goodbye to its audience after 16 years of airing.

Hindi ako magkukunwari na I am not hurting, that I am not bleeding inside because I am. It’s very painful dahil naging karelasyon po namin kayo for 16 years… we’ve been together for a long time. Pero yung decision po na mawala muna pansamantala sa ere ang ‘The Buzz’ ay isang decision na kailangan at tama,” he said.

ABS-CBN also released a statement on the announcement of the show’s final episode.
