Businessman Rey Pamaran has filed a slander complaint against actress Melissa Mendez on Wednesday.
Four days after the incident, Mendez issued an apology on Instagram for what she described as “my untoward actions” but Pamaran apparently did not think it enough.
On March 20, Mendez was offloaded from a Cebu Pacific flight from Manila to Pagadian City after allegedly slapping Pamaran over an argument on seat assignment, Inquirer reported.
Recall that on March 20, Pamaran’s friend, model Andrew Wolff, posted on Instagram a video of Melissa seemingly being reprimanded by the plane’s captain. Wolff claimed the actress, whom he alleged “smelled liked beer brewery” in his post, cursed and hit Pamaran in the face.
After the video went viral, Mendez explained in interviews that she simply asked Pamaran and Wolff to let her occupy one of their seats for a while so she can take photos of the clouds during take off.
“Sabi ko, ‘Sandali lang naman eh tapos lipat na ako kagad.’ ‘Kapag hindi ka umalis diyan, hahampasin kita sa mukha mo ng bag ko.’ Lalaki siya eh. So nagulat ako na ganoon ang reaction niya. At the top of my voice, nagalit ako,” Melissa told “TV Patrol.”
