RECAP: Jason Dy Wins ‘The Voice PH’ Season 2

Jason Dy of Team Sarah was declared winner of the second season of “The Voice of the Philippines” on Sunday.
The 24-year-old singer bested three other finalists for the title. Alisah Bonaobra  of Team Apl placed second. Meanwhile, Leah Patricia of Team Lea and Rence Rapanot of Team Bamboo finished third and fourth, respectively.
The finale of the ABS-CBN’s reality show was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City.

Jason Dy, who was coached by Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo, emerged as the winner after battling with Rence Rapanot of Team Bamboo, Alisah Bonaobra of Team Apl., and Leah Patricio of Team Lea.

On Sunday’s show, he sang “Angels Brought Me Here” and “If I Ain’t Got You” duet with his coach Sarah.

During the first round of the show’s two-day finale, Dy performed two songs: “Wrecking Ball” with international singer Charice and for his individual song choice, he sang “With You.”

Dy sang “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” in his final showdown against Bonaobra.

Dy won 52.94 percent of the public’s votes.

The Voice of the Philippines winner was declared solely based on the people’s votes.

As winner of “The Voice,” Jason won a P1 million cash prize and a recording contract with MCA Universal, among others.
