One of our favorite cartoons of the nineties is finally back on ABS-CBN this October.
“Sarah, ang Munting Prinsesa,” along with “Marcelino Pan Y Vino” will make a comeback on television on October 13.
Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel, A Little Princess, the Japanese anime series Princess Sarah was first shown in 1985 and was shown locally on ABS-CBN in the early 90s.
“Sarah, ang Munting Prinsesa,” also became a movie in 1995 which starred Camille Prats and Angelica Panganiban as Sarah Crewe and Becky, respectively.
The series is recently gaining popularity online due to several Internet memes using scenes from the series, with some poking fun at Sarah’s relationship with the other characters such as Peter and Lavinia.
“Marcelino” on the other hand tells the story of an orphan boy raised by monks. It was the inspiration behind the hit television series, “May Bukas Pa,” which launched the career of young actor Zaijan Jaranilla.
