Two construction workers have been confirmed killed and 11 others were injured after a floor of the still being constructed “The Suites” condominium at the Bonifacio Global City located at the corner of 5th Avenue and 28th Street in Taguig collapsed on Wednesday morning.
In a report from Philstar, Taguig Police chief Senior Superintendent Arthur Felix Asis said the incident happened at about 8:10 a.m. The part that collapsed was where cement was newly laid on the building’s second floor. Initial reports said the foam board supporting the floor gave way causing the collapse.
One of the fatalities, whose bodies were recovered during retrieval operations by the Philippine Red Cross, was identified as Renato dela Cruz. Those injured were identified as Sandy Vargas, Jaymar Carberta, Regan Labmutin, Larry Magguray, Wendil Behim, Aldrin Gahuman, Roberto Lorca, Darwin Avara, Bernard Tugade, Jonathan Agoso, Delinger Abara.
