Two congressmen made it to the top – the most number of absences in the House of Representatives for 2014.

Sarangani Representative and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and Negros Occidental Representative Julio Ledesma IV were present in only seven of the 70 session days from January 20 to December 17, 2014.

For the same period, only a total of 65 out of the 290 members of the House of Representatives, or 22 percent, registered perfect attendance in sessions based on official records from the chamber.

The calling of the roll was done only in 34 session days while it was dispensed with in the 36 sessions. Thus, the records released by the Office of the Secretary General reckoned only the total attendance record of House members based on the days when there was a roll call

“There were 36 session days when roll call was dispensed with and the members were recorded as in attendance,” the House website said.
