High price at Rustan’s supermarket.
Changes in prices are quite common from one outlet to another. Some sellers try to make more profits than others and charge higher prices. In this particular photo though the price is just far too high. Vegetables are not too costly, but in this case when this is normally sold for some 50 or 60 pesos, here we can clearly see the price tag showing over 700 pesos.
This viral photo was uploaded to Facebook by Netizen, Tony Benfield on June 15 with the following caption:
A rtn ticket to Oz is P7-8,000 (promo price). But now you can stay safely home and have 10 – YES! TEN! – cauliflowers instead. Wow… What a deal! Rustans security are on high alert ready for huge crowds, possibly riots of stocks run out! Rustans does it again! — at Rustan’s Supermarket, Shangri-La.
This photo is currently making the rounds on social media, as many people are trying to speculate whether this is true or if it is merely a joke. Rustan’s supermarket is the seller in this case, and as can be seen from the hundreds of comments, most people seem to be thinking that this cannot possibly be true. But there is no denying that that is what the price tag is stating! Who knows?! I doubt this will be sold to anyone at such a high price though. It will probably remain on the supermarket’s shelves.
