It’s official! Jodi Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban will portray the roles of Amor Powers and Claudia Buenavisita on ABS-CBN’s “Pangako Sa’Yo” remake.
The three-minute trailer of the 2015 series was released on Tuesday and shows Sta. Maria trading slaps with Panganiban.
In the original 2000 series, Eula Valdez played the role of Amor, a maid-turned-business tycoon out for revenge on the Buenavistas; while Jean Garcia played Claudia, the scheming and ambitious wife of Amor’s former love, Eduardo (Tonton Gutierrez).
“Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” which aired for two years, follows the story of sweethearts Yna (Kristine Hermosa) and Angelo (Jericho Rosales), the respective children of Amor and Claudia.
Valdez and Garcia were both 31 when they took on the roles in 2000. Sta. Maria, who was also part of the original cast of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” as Angelo’s younger sister Lia, will turn 33 in June, while Panganiban turned 28 last November.
Hermosa was 17 and Rosales, 21, when they were cast in the original. Bernardo celebrated her debut in March, while Padilla will turn 20 in April.
