In mid-December 31-year-old Florida woman April Rollison was arrested for drug possession. She was taken to Polk County Jail, where she was subjected to a full body scan with a machine practically identical to the body scanners now found at airports across the world.
Rollison has reportedly died after a crack pipe and bottle of cocaine was removed from her vagina.
Doctors took the paraphernalia out of April Rollison – but she is believed to have already ingested a quantity of drugs when no one was looking.
The scan uncovered a surprise: April had hidden a crack pipe and drugs in her vagina.
Jail staff send the woman to a hospital to have the glass pipe and drugs removed, but while she was left alone for a second as a nurse grabbed a bedpan, cops believe Ms. Rollison retrieved the drugs from her body and ingested several crack rocks before hospital staff were able to confiscate the contraband from her cavity.
Shortly after she was taken back to the jail, April Rollison had a bad reaction and collapsed. She was rushed to hospital but died several days later.
April was just 31 when she died. She had reportedly begun using drugs 20 years ago.
