A fire that hit a building along historic Escolta Street in Manila on Wednesday was placed under control after 9 a.m., but not after causing some P20 million in structural damage.

But investigators are still determining what caused the fire that used to house the City College of Manila and Philippine National Bank, GMA News reported.

Firefighters managed to place the fire under control at about 9:19 a.m.
