After being the “third wheel” in the movie “Must Be Love” and TV series “Got to Believe” which both starred Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, 16-year old Fil-Am actress Liza Soberano has finally landed a lead role in the upcoming Star Cinema chick flick, “The Bet“.
The Bet is a film adaptation of a youth oriented love story based on a Wattpad book written by Kimberly Joy Villanueva. Joining Liza in the cast is Enrique Gil, who was also her co-star in the movie “She’s the One” together with Bea Alonzo and Dingdong Dantes.
Liza plays the role of Sophia, a victim of a betting game between Enrique and his bestfriend. The game involves courting Sophia until she falls for Drake and eventually announce that everything was just a game in a span of 30 days.
Liza was a bit concerned about being typecast as third wheel like her previous roles. But both Gil and Soberano, who are under the same handler, expressed their happiness and excitement with this new project. Also starring in the movie are Yves Flores, Marco Gumabao, Chienna Filomeno, Sue Ramirez, and Erin Ocampo.
Directed by Ted Boborol, The Bet is scheduled to be released in theaters within the year.
