GMA 7 Brings Back “Yagit” On Philippine TV

GMA Network brings back the well-loved drama series that also turned into a movie in 1980’s, “Yagit“.

New child wonders will breathe new life to the four lead characters in the remake of the series.

Portraying the character of Eliza Macabuhay is Chlaui Malayao, a sweet girl who became popular on her memorable pancit canton TV commercial. Yasmien Kurdi will play the role of her mother, Dolores Macabuhay.



Playing siblings and Eliza’s cousins Jocelyn and Tomtom Macabuhay are the 12-year-old kids Judie Dela Cruz and Jemwell Ventinilla, respectively.

Zymic Jaranilla will play the role of Ding Reyes, a streetsmart boy who will eventually develop friendship with Eliza, Jocelyn, and Tomtom.

Also joining them is Steph Yamut, a cheerful kid from Cebu, who will be portraying the role of the English/Tagalog and Cebuanospeaking girl Tiffany.



Together, these four lead characters will prove how the power of togetherness and friendship can influence their positive outlook amidst life’s challenges.

Also in the cast are LJ Reyes, James Blanco, Kevin Santos, Renz Fernandez, Wowie de Guzman, Ina Feleo, Rich Asuncion, Racquel Villavicencio, Maricris Garcia and Frank Magalona.

Directed by Gina Alajar, “Yagit” starts airing in October on GMA Afternoon Prime.
