FULL LIST: Winners, MMFF 2014 Awards Night Results

MANILA, Philippines – The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) awards night happened at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Saturday, December 27.

We highly recommend everyone to support the MMFF 2014, to support Filipino films, and to support the initiatives of the MMDA in promoting Filipino movies.

Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, starring Robin Padilla and Vina Morales, won several awards, bagging the music and sound category including the FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence, and the coveted Best Picture award.

Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2 also bagged several awards, including ones for production design, makeup, and visual effects, plus acting nods for Joey Marquez and Lotlot de Leon, and a 3rd Best Picture win.

English Only, Please, a romantic comedy, also won nods for story, screenplay, and best director – plus, a 2nd Best Picture win and Best Actor for Derek Ramsay and Best Actress for Jennylyn Mercado.

The festival kicked off last December 23 with the annual Parade of Stars from Aseana Building in Parañaque all the way to the Quirino Grandstand.

The 8 movies hit theaters last Thursday December 25, with The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2, Feng Shui 2, My Big Bossing, and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles leading the box office in terms of earnings.
