Former WWE and WCW Sean O’Haire Dies In Apparent Suicide

The former WWE and WCW wrestler Sean O’haire was found dead Tuesday at his home in South Carolina.

According to E! News, a 911 call was made on Tuesday morning about a suicide. An investigating officer arrived at a home and found the 43-year old Sean O’Haire’s father in the kitchen and the former wrestler’s lifeless body in his bedroom, laying beside the bed with a rope tied around his neck and connected to the bedpost. Results from an external examination and toxicology reports are still pending.

O’Haire, made his debut in WCW in 2000. He went on to win the tag team championship three times with his wrestling partner Chuck Palumbo.

He later joined WWE as veteran star Rowdy Roddy Piper’s protégé. O’Haire wrestled for WWE until 2004 before he was injured in a motorcycle accident.

He left wrestling and pursued a short-lived mixed-martial-arts career. His last fight was in 2007.

WWE offered this statement: “WWE extends its condolences to Sean Christopher Haire’s family, friends and fans on his passing.”
