The Amityville Horror House that served as the inspiration for the infamous book and scary films is now listed for sale on the market. The house sits at 108 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, NY and is listed on Zillow for $850K.
On November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. shot and killed six members of his family at 112 Ocean Avenue, a large Dutch Colonial house situated in a suburban neighborhood in Amityville, on the south shore of Long Island in New York in the USA. He was convicted of second-degree murder in November 1975.
Evil: Ronald DeFeo shot his entire family dead in the house in 1974, pictured. The Lutzs moved into the home a year later.
In December 1975, George and Kathy Lutz and their three children moved into the house. After 28 days, the Lutzes left the house, claiming to have been terrorized by paranormal phenomena while living there.
In 1975 a family moved out after strange activity in just 28 days? What about the recent family? One family lived there 1975-2010 and then another family 2010 till now….did either of those families experience everything? They didn’t note anything about them…
I read the book, and saw the movie. Ronnie DeFeo murdered his family and swears he heard voices for months telling him to do it. Next family lasted 28 days, said the same thing. Next family moves in nothing. My luck would be i would move in and get possessed. But the house is gorgeous.
I noticed the no interior pictures too! That and it sold in 2010 for $950k and now on the market for $850K. Beautiful house but no thank you.
I think some rich paranormal junkie should purchase it and transform it into a paranormal museum so there’s no more freaked out families and help the economy. What do you think?
Ok I would probably buy an old creepy house and refurbish it. But this ain’t one of them. Good luck to the new owner of this place.
