Filipino boxer and WBA ‘Super’ world featherweight champion Nonito Donaire, Jr. unable to defend his title as he was knocked out by Jamaican Nicholas Walters with an overhand right in the 6th round of their 126 pound clash Saturday night (Sunday morning Manila time) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
Donaire got off to a strong start, fighting the Jamaican toe-to-toe before a right-uppercut by Walters sent the “Filipino Flash” falling down the floor in the third round.
