‘Chedeng’ Continues Its Path Towards PH, Storm Signals Persist

Tropical Storm “Chedeng” has maintained its strength as it continues its direction towards land.

In its 5 pm weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “Chedeng” has maximum sustained winds of 115 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of 145 kph.

“Chedeng” was last spotted at 4 pm 340 kilometers southeast of Casiguran, Aurora and moving at a pace of 20 kph in a west northwest path.

Signal no. 1 in the rest of Cagayan including Babuyan Island, ‪Apayao, ‪‎Ilocos Norte, ‪Ilocos Sur, ‪‎Abra, ‪‎La Union, ‪Pangasinan, ‎Nueva Ecija, ‎Tarlac, ‪Pampanga, ‎Bulacan, ‪Rizal, ‎Quezon, ‪‎Camarines Norte and ‪Camarines Sur.

Last week, super Typhoon Maysak – codenamed Chedeng when it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility – ravaged the Federated States of Micronesia, leaving at least five dead, thousands homeless and crops destroyed.
