A 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit 5 kilometers southeast of Culasi in Antique Friday afternoon. THE Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The earthquake hit at 4:05 p.m. and had a depth of 14 kilometers.
There was no reported damage on infrastructure and other vital installations in the Capiz, the Philippine Information Agency-Western Visayas quoting Esperedion Pelaez, Capiz Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council officer, said.
Several areas felt the following intensities:
Intensity VI (very strong) – Culasi, Antique
Intensity V (strong) – Kalibo, Aklan; Sebaste,Pandan, Lauan and Libertad (Antique)
Intensity IV (moderately strong) – San Jose, Sibalom and San Remegio (Antique)
Intensity III – La Carlota City; Roxas City; Ilo-ilo City
Intensity II – Cebu City
Intensity I – Zamboanga City
Phivolcs said aftershocks and damage are expected.
