BREAKING NEWS: 11 Dead, 21 Injured In Bukidnon Bus Explosion

MANILA, Philippines – (Updated 10:07 p.m.) Eleven people were killed while 21 others were injured in a bus explosion in Barangay Mus-wan in Maramag town in Bukidnon past 5 p.m. Tuesday, police and military officials said.

Many were also rushed to a hospital following the explosion at around 5:30 pm near the main entrance of the state-owned Central Mindanao University (CMU) in Maramag town.

The bomb reportedly exploded at the back of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc.’s Bus no. 2640. It was classified as an “ordinary” bus––meaning, non-airconditioned.

The bus reportedly came from Wao, Lanao del Sur.

It was the second bombing of a bus in Maramag town since November. The November explosion was blamed on a terror group that allegedly planted a crude bomb based on a 60-mm mortar shell with a triggering device in the RTMI bus.
The RTMI bus was bound from Tacurong City to Cagayan de Oro.

The bus was heading to Cagayan de Oro City when the vehicle exploded near Central Mindanao University in Maramag, a first class municipality in Bukidnon, ANC reported Tuesday night.
