Beijing Police have detained Jackie Chan’s son in connection with a drugs case, according to media report.
Jaycee Chan, an actor and singer was detained last week together with a Taiwanese pop superstar Kai Ko.
Ko was held on charges of “taking drugs”, the newspaper said, adding that Chan, 31, had been detained at the same time. It did not give further details.
The two actors are being seen as the targets of the capital’s latest anti-drugs campaign, which has seen more than 7,000 people detained for using drugs, a 72% year-on-year increase, according to the China Daily.
In the past six months, various entertainment celebrities have been arrested for drug use, including mainland singer Li Daimo, director Zhang Yuan, actor Zhang Mo and screen writer Ning Caishen. In July, Hong Kong actor Roy Cheung was also arrested for using marijuana.
