NASA story is a hoax among other stories circulated on the news this week. The hoax story has been circulating far and wide on Twitter and Facebook.
‘Satirical news site’ Huzlers.com has been spreading this fake story far and wide on the web this week, taking in numerous Facebook and Twitter users and encouraging them to post about what they’re going to be up to during the six days of darkness.
The fake story claimed that the darkness will be caused by an incoming solar storm which would bring about dust and space debris that will block out 90 percent of the sunlight.
Although solar storms do exist, they do not block out electricity from Earth and most certainly do not block out the sunlight.
There are over a million people shared the fake story, which stated that the phenomenon would happen between Dec. 16 to 22, 2014.
